First Class B.Tech / BE in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution
The Assistant Manager – Design & Development will be responsible for end-to-end new product design, including subsystem integration, manufacturing process development, and cost optimization. The role requires expertise in electric vehicle design, including mechanical systems like chassis, suspension, and braking. The candidate must also support validation, homologation, and continuous improvement efforts.
New Product Development & Engineering
Lead the design of new products and associated tooling: dies, jigs, fixtures, inspection gauges
Conduct feasibility studies for new development inquiries
Introduce new design methodologies, materials, and manufacturing technologies
Drive value engineering (VA/VE) for product and process cost optimization
Product Improvement & Benchmarking
Suggest improvements in existing products and production processes
Benchmark competitor vehicle design and system parameters
Validation & Documentation
Ensure product validation and homologation as per regulatory norms
Maintain and manage design documentation as per ISO 9000 / TS / IATF 16949
Technical Analysis
Conduct FMEA, FEA, DOE, product capability studies, and tolerance stack-up analysis
Support CAE-based design verifications
Packaging & Integration
Package and integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems into vehicle platforms
Estimate costs of sheet metal and plastic parts from technical drawings
Strong knowledge of EV systems: chassis, steering, braking, suspension
Hands-on with FMEA, FEA, DOE, and other quality tools
Familiarity with engineering plastics
Cost estimation skills for automotive components
Exposure to ISO / IATF standards
Proficient in CAE tools for part sizing and verification
Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset
