To protect the user, battery safety is one of the key points that must be considered throughout the production of an Electric Vehicle. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has put in a draft to implement new guidelines for EV battery management to assure user safety and prevent any accidents. MoRTH recently postponed the implementation of AIS-156, Automotive Industry Standard, to give manufacturers more time to get ready before the complete implementation, which will be mandated beginning in December 2022 in two phases.
One of the pivotal parts of an electric vehicle is its battery. Also, it is referred to as the powerhouse of an electric vehicle’s motor. It plays the same role as the fuel tank of a conventional vehicle. It serves as a power storage system.
Besides, to be compliant on all points, Team OSM has long back started the process. We have asked our battery and charger provider to comply with the new AIS-156. Many of the provisions have already been taken care of even before this draft was released. Such as OSM Rage+ has charge voltage cut-off to avoid over charging. We make sure that we comply to all the provisions.
