World Environment Day celebrations were initiated in 1973 by the United Nations Environment Programme. It has been a significant event aimed at raising awareness and mobilising people across the globe to protect our planet. Every year, this celebration becomes an influential platform to address pressing environmental issues. This year, the theme of World Environment Day is #BeatPlasticPollution. It highlights the urgent need to combat the harmful impact of plastic on our ecosystems. At OSM, we are committed to making a difference by reducing plastic consumption within our company and taking tangible steps towards a greener future.

Taking Sustainable Steps on World Environment Day

In our ongoing efforts to minimise plastic usage, we have undertaken various initiatives at OSM. It begins with small yet impactful changes, such as replacing plastic bottles with recycled glass bottles. By taking this simple step, we not only contribute to reducing plastic waste but also promote the use of sustainable alternatives. We firmly believe that even the smallest actions can bring about significant change.

Furthermore, at our company, we strongly oppose the use of plastic bags, regardless of government bans. Recognising the detrimental impact of plastic bags on our environment, we actively discourage their usage. This World Environment Day we encourage the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives to plastic. By promoting the use of reusable bags and sustainable packaging, we strive to create a positive shift in user behaviour and contribute to a plastic-free future.

Greening Our Workplace

This year, on the occasion of World Environment Day, we have run an exciting campaign within our corporate building. Specifically, where we distributed indoor plants across various workspaces to emphasise the importance of environment. Each plant placed on every desk serves as a daily reminder to each individual to develop a connection with nature. Further, it serves as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard our planet for future generations. Moreover, it is an opportunity to reflect on our individual actions and explore solutions to combat environmental challenges
